Helping Hands for Wildlife is a self-funded project. We receive no government funding and are not financed by large organisations. Everything we do here is made possible by donations, sponsorships and people who care just as much about our animals as we do.
To ensure we can care for our animals in the long term, we rely on regular support. Only in this way can we plan ahead, take in emergency cases and provide a safe, long-term home for the animals living with us.
Helping Hands is what it is today because people have stood by us over many years, visited us and built a connection with this place. We are very grateful for that.
If you’d like to support us, you can make a one-off donation or set up a monthly donation. Every donation – no matter how small – helps us to continue our work.
The bulk of our monthly costs is for food – mainly fruit and vegetables for the monkeys, meat for the servals, and food for our dogs, pigs and horse.
Veterinary costs, medication, parasite prevention and necessary treatments are all part of looking after our pets and are incurred on a regular basis.
Enclosures, fences, outdoor runs and the grounds must be maintained regularly to ensure that all animals can live safely and in a manner appropriate to their species.
Reintroduction into the wild requires a great deal of organisation and effort. This includes transport to the reintroduction site, the preparation and execution of the reintroduction, and the care of the animals during this period.
Buksie was rescued after a serious attack that left her with life-threatening injuries. A complicated operation and intensive aftercare have given her a second chance. Thanks to her incredible will to live, she is making progress every day. Donations are now needed to cover the high veterinary costs and her ongoing treatment.
Every day, we provide hundreds of rescued wild animals with fresh, species-appropriate food. A balanced diet is the foundation for their recovery and successful release back into the wild. The cost of fruit, vegetables, meat, milk powder and specialised food alone amounts to around €12,000 each year. With your donation, you’ll help us to provide the best possible care for every animal and give them a real second chance.
