Hey, I'm Linkie!
Linkie’s story
Linkie has been living with us at the foot of Mount Hlumu since 2017. With her gentle, rather reserved nature, she has always been a little different – a small soul who never learnt to assert herself within a large, strong monkey family.
As a young monkey, she moved to the Wildcamp, but a tragic accident changed her life forever: she lost her right arm. Physically, she recovered quickly, but she lost her place in the group – and with it, a sense of security.
Despite many attempts to reintegrate her, Linkie never quite found her place. Today she lives in a protected area where she can finally find peace – and enjoy her very own little moments of happiness. Right at the top of the list: her absolute favourite food. She’ll drop everything for crisp cucumbers and sweet beetroot – and shows a surprisingly determined side when she does.
Linkie reminds us that strength isn’t always loud – sometimes it’s quiet, gentle and reveals itself precisely when it comes to the things that really matter.

Food sponsorship – €10 a month
You’ll help cover Linkie’s monthly food costs and ensure she enjoys a varied diet of different fruits and vegetables.
Full care – €20 per month
You’ll support Linkie’s complete care. This includes food, medical care, maintenance of the enclosures, sleeping boxes, and climbing and enrichment facilities.
